Connect an APC Mini

Connect the optional controller with one toggle and keep its faders free for your DAW.

Connect the dedicated controller

  1. Connect the APC Mini by USB and close other apps that own its MIDI ports. In Ableton Settings → Link, Tempo & MIDI, set its Control Surface to None.
  2. For direct input, turn Track and Sync off on the APC input. Enable Remote when you want to map its faders in Live.
  3. Open Aievea Sequence and turn the APC Mini toggle on. Available input and LED ports connect automatically. Hover the adjacent ? for the setup instructions.
  4. Read the connection status and press a pad. If direct input cannot open, enable APC Track input in Live, route it to the Aievea Sequence track, and set Monitor to In for fallback input.

Navigate and edit

Aievea Sequence shows 32 steps while the APC edits an eight-step page. On Mk1, upper Scene buttons choose pages, lower Scene buttons select a property or CC lane, and Device cycles Notes, Expression, Automation and Perform.

Hold physical Shift for alternate hardware commands. With a mouse, click SHIFT to latch it, then click again or press Escape to clear it. View buttons, step headers, restart markers and inspector values work without a controller.

Keep the faders available

Map the nine faders in Ableton and label them in LIVE CTRL. Aievea Sequence monitors the movement while leaving the faders available to Live’s MIDI Map.

Turn the APC Mini toggle off to release dedicated control. The older printable hardware PDFs predate the current mouse controls and finishes; use these web guides and the current app for setup.
