Route Aievea Sequence to a synth

Connect a receiving synth track in Ableton and map Aievea Sequence’s CC lanes to its sound.

Use two MIDI tracks

  1. Keep Aievea Sequence on one MIDI track. Create another MIDI track and load your synth there.
  2. On the synth track, set MIDI From to the track containing Aievea Sequence. In the lower chooser, select Aievea Sequence’s plug-in output.
  3. Set the synth track’s Monitor to In. Select DAW / Host in Aievea Sequence and start Live’s transport.
  4. Turn Preview sound off when you want to hear only the receiving synth.

Map a CC lane

  1. Choose Automation, select a lane, and open Lane settings to give it a name and choose the CC number your synth expects.
  2. Enable CC output on. Start MIDI Learn on the receiving synth, then click Map to synth in Aievea Sequence. The selected lane sends a value even while playback is stopped.
  3. Finish learning on the synth and click Done mapping to restore the other lanes’ saved output states.
  4. Draw different values. Enable Smooth CC for interpolation, or leave it off for stepped movement.

Record the phrase

Arm the receiving MIDI track and record a clip to capture the generated notes. Use Auto monitoring with the track armed when you want to record input; switch to clip playback afterward.

Keep routing one-way to avoid a MIDI feedback loop. Preview sound is a local monitor; the receiving synth determines the production sound and what each assigned CC controls.

Host reference: Ableton: accessing a VST plug-in’s MIDI output.
